This project began winning The Summer 2024 Intensive Interlude Intervention, a pitching tournament by Get Slapped Studios where the most voted pitch gets a 12-week sprint to build a prototype in Unreal Engine with a team of almost 30 volunteers. After the 12-weeks ended, the remaining team continuing the project transitioned to Unity. 

 

Lost Media is a 3D platformer, set in a film studio turned into a mom-and-pop video store before going out of business. You play as Buster, a retired film noir detective VHS, hired by the Mayor to solve a mysterious case of Lost Media!

Investigate, Explore, and Restore!

Buster, a grumpy and forgotten VHS tape (voiced by Eisner Award-nominated writer Percy Carey, also known for his music as underground rapper MF GRIMM), will dive into the analogue universe of the past filled with environmental puzzles and hidden collectibles. His goal: find the lost media by gathering Reels and unlocking themed zones (Sci-Fi, Horror, and Action), offering unique gameplay, hazards and mini-bosses. Alongside an eccentric cast of characters, Buster will uncover clues about the store's mysterious past and the fading legacy of physical media in an ever growing digital world!
